May 20th, 2010, DUBASARI: Social workers and specialists from Rehabilitation Centers for children and youth with disabilities from the Republic of Moldova and the Transnistrian Region continue exchange of opinion, study and apply the new methods of work with children with special needs with the support of European Union.
HILFSWERK AUSTRIA IN MOLDOVA in partnership with charity fund “YAROSLAV” Dubasari last Thursday, has organized the opinion exchange on “Decorative Arts as one of the means for social rehabilitation of children with disabilities”. This exchange of opinion has been organized in frames of the project on “Creation of Network of Daycare Centers for Children and Youth with Disabilities’, implemented in frames of project Support for Confidence Building Measures, financed by the European Union and implemented by United Nations Development Programme.
The event conducted by Natalia Dudii and Ruslana Kravet, in frames of event participants have performed the exchange of experience on the means of art as tool for social rehabilitation. As well they have discussed the main methods and techniques of practical work using art for the rehabilitation of children with special needs. The study tour around the Daycare Center Dubasari was organized in order to see at practice how the art is being used as well as different visions of socialization of teenagers and youth with special needs are being enforced. The specialists have played the roles of youngsters with special needs, to develop the direction of work and strategy for development of master classes on art. At the same time difficulties and opportunities were identified. The participants of the meeting once again have outline that such activity represents one of the most successful model of socialization of children with special needs tested in many European countries.
