June 28 - July 4, 2009 - The third Summer School
Hilfswerk Austria in Moldova with the support from its partners and donors organized third Summer School for Moldovan and Transnistrian region students on topic of “Democracy, Integration and Culture of Peace” which took place on June 28-July 4th, 2009 at Vadul-lui-Voda.
Twenty six students competitively selected from both Moldova (including Gagauzia region) and Transnistrian region have received the unique opportunity to receive knowledge of multinational group of professors on such issues as democratic principles and values, regional cooperation, integration, frozen conflicts management, media coverage and civic engagement. The school was held in and interactive approach, involving numerous high rank guest lecturers and study visits. Among guest lecturers were diplomats of Austrian Development Cooperation in Moldova, OSCE mission to Moldova, Embassy of Germany in RM, Embassy of Czech Republic in Moldova, UNDP – Moldova, Delegation of European Commission to Moldova, etc.
Summer School within the international education programme implemented in Moldova shall be followed by six months distance learning course on specific research topic connected with summer school specifics.
Besides that the project implemented by Hilfswerk Austria in Moldova encourages interregional cooperation and networking among Moldovan, Austrian and Transnistrian professors and students, the exchange of ideas and common initiative on regional challenges as well as cross-cultural dialogue.
The project is funded by Austrian Development Cooperation and co-funded by OSCE mission to Moldova.
The project is implemented by Hilfswerk Austria in Moldova in cooperation with NGO “World Window Tiraspol”, Institute for Danube region and Central Europe (IDM) in Austria, Institute of History, State and Law, State University of Moldova, University ULIM, University “Perspectiva-Int”.
