MAY 6TH, 2011 SEMINAR ON „VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE - AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING FOR CHILDREN WITH SEN”

 

Friday, May 6, 2011, Hilfswerk Austria in Moldova, in partnership with the Association of Support for Children with Physical Disabilities in Peresecina (ASCHF) organized a seminar on „Vocational Guidance - an opportunity for independent living for children with SEN”, in which Network representatives were able to express their views and suggestions on the continuity and stability of services for children and young people with SEN. Vocational Guidance for SEN children still remains a less developed area in Moldova, although the initiation of such services do not require huge expenditures. Preparation for life must be part of the complex social integration and rehabilitation programme of these children. This seminar was a sharing of positive experience of Peresecina association ASCHF regarding package of alternative services to support academic and social integration of children with SEN to members of the Network of Centres of multifunctional rehabilitation of children with disabilities and SEN.

 

 

 

 

 
Association of Support for Children with Physical Disabilities in Peresecina (ASCHF) is active since 2002 and operates within established work programs: Day Care Center (multipurpose rehabilitation center and social integration of children with special needs), Inclusive Education for children with special educational needs (SEN), vocational guidance for children with SEN and vulnerable families (carpet weaving, working with wood, embroidery, design with natural materials, knowledge of PC and culinary), informing the family through thematic seminars, counseling, parental involvement in children’s rehabilitation activities, organizational development through improvements in teaching and promoting current services at the regional Association.

 

 

 

 

 

At present, with support from the community school ASCHF has two good practices in inclusion classes with two teachers and support - psychologists, Ms Veronica Pruteanu Elena Gurduza financially supported by Orhei District Council, which provide services that benefit children with disabilities 11 delivered 40 other children with SEN in the school. The center is also operating two master classes n Woodworks and Carpet weaving, there the manufactured items such as chairs and tables, cabinets for any room, mats and purses can be put for sale. This activity not only continues tradition but also offers the ability for youth to cope with life and get a living. Additional guests ASCHF shared with work and good practice work with local governments, donors and businesses.
